Closely tied to the history of the school, Notre Dame’s football program is respected province-wide. We compete at the highest level (AAA) despite having the lowest enrollment  in this category. No athletic team in the province has won more championships (14) than the Notre Dame football program. Strong coaching, administrative and staff support, parental involvement and outstanding school spirit have been the driving forces behind this success.

Notre Dame football annually attracts over 100 participants spread over three teams- Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity. Home games are now played on our beautiful new artificial turf facility. Having an on-campus practice and game field is bound to produce great dividends as the program continues to be among the province’s best.

Notre Dame football grads are annually among the most highly recruited by college coaches throughout the country. Players are required to meet rigorous academic standards in order to qualify for university scholarships.

Several graduates of the program have distinguished themselves at the professional level. Among these is Lui Passaglia, a grad of ‘72, who played 25 seasons for the B.C. Lions and is the all-time scoring leader in the history of pro football!

The football season begins in the spring with a two-week training camp and picks up again in the last two weeks of August with a pre-season camp. The regular season  runs through the first week in November with the playoffs extending the season until the first week of December.
