"1000 lbs club started in 1980. It’s a competition where students do three different exercises (deadlift, benchpress and leg press)  which would add up to 1000 pounds. The club mainly consisted of the schools best athletes to test out their max strength, but now recently more students outside of football have started to compete in the weightlifting. Now, current students are trying to beat the school’s records from the past and trying to create new ones for new students to beat."
